Calculate the tile quantity needed (pcs) based on area, tile size, joint width and laying pattern — with margin and adhesive consumption.
For grout quantity, use the grout calculator.
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| Area of 1 tile with joint | (width + joint) × (height + joint) |
| Quantity (without margin) | Area ÷ area of 1 tile |
| Quantity (with margin) | Quantity × (1 + margin % / 100), rounded up |
Choosing a laying pattern only sets a recommended default margin % — you can change it manually.
Diagonal or herringbone laying requires more cutting and generates more offcuts, so losses are higher than with straight laying.
On average 2–5 kg/m², depending on tile size and the flatness of the floor/wall — larger tiles need a thicker adhesive layer.
It's better to buy them all at once — different batches (lots) can vary slightly in color or caliber.
