Check an EU company's VAT number, an Australian ABN, or a Canadian federal corporation — name, address, and status, instantly.
VIES (VAT Information Exchange System) is the European Commission's official system for checking whether a VAT number is valid and which company it belongs to. Data comes directly from EU member states' tax authority registries.
This tool only searches by VAT number (with country prefix, e.g. DE...). Searching by national company registry number is not currently supported.
Possible reasons: the company is not VAT-registered, the number was entered incorrectly, or that country's VIES system is temporarily unavailable.
Yes, every request queries VIES directly — the data shown is current at that moment.
Yes. Choose the corresponding button above the search field. Australia uses the official ABN Lookup register (11-digit ABN), Canada uses the Corporations Canada federal registry.
The Canadian registry covers ONLY companies incorporated at the federal level (under the CBCA and similar acts). Most small Canadian businesses are incorporated at the provincial level (Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, etc.) — those won't appear in this registry.
The EGRUL system occasionally requires CAPTCHA verification, in which case it temporarily can't return results for automated requests. If you see an error, try again in a few minutes.
It uses the official Companies House register — enter the company number (up to 8 characters, short numbers are zero-padded automatically).
e-Buhalteris automatically validates client VAT numbers via VIES and fills in invoice details.
