Calculate the floor screed compound quantity needed, number of bags and an estimated drying time — with support for a slope (min/max thickness).
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| Average thickness | (Min. thickness + Max. thickness) ÷ 2 |
| Volume | Area × Average thickness |
| Weight | Volume × compound density |
| Number of bags | Weight ÷ bag weight, rounded up |
The min/max thickness fields are for calculating a slope (e.g. for a balcony or rainwater drainage) — the compound layer can be thinner on one side than the other.
Self-leveling compound spreads itself once poured, dries faster (~1 day/10mm), but costs more. Cement screed needs manual leveling with a trowel, dries slower (~7 days/10mm), but is cheaper.
When you need a thick layer (e.g. a large floor level rise) without adding extra load to the structure — it's significantly lighter, but takes the longest to dry.
Yes, almost always — primer improves adhesion and prevents the substrate from absorbing moisture too quickly. The amount of primer is not included in this calculator.
